BikeSportCentral Lives!

I’ve been thinking about starting a blog for a year or so and have read lots of advice,  I’ve resolved my three key points:

1. You must be passionate about the subject matter.

(or else writing content becomes a chore)

2. It takes a  lot of time to maintain a nice blog.

(dont waste your time, be realistic)

3. Content is critical, regular, fresh & interesting.

(keep your audience coming back, generate trust)

I can tick those boxes and I’m interested in learning and contributing to the on-line community.

Bike racing has a dedicated global following, however, as many different championships, series & classes as there are, I always come back to two really important and oddly opposing questions:

1.  Am I spending too much precious time watching/following racing?

(Probably, but it’s a personal/moral dilemma I know many of us share let’s talk about it.)

2. What else am I missing out on elsewhere?

(How can we get one-stop info/media/discussion)

I plan to use this blog as a springboard to create “something” that helps the global bike racing fan keep abreast of  everything that’s going on.

What form that “something”  takes will ideally evolve from you the reader and your contributions to, lets call it  “project bikesportcentral”.

Coming up soon.
